Where to place reed diffusers in a room

This is a topic we've discussed a lot here at KIN. There are a few factors that influence the effectiveness of reed diffusers, these include air flow, room temperature and the reeds themselves.

Air flow

In order to achieve the best diffusion we'd advise putting the diffuser in a spot which experiences a lot of air movement, this could be a hallway, somewhere near a door, or even in a windowsill. Good air flow is a diffusers best friend and can really help boost the aroma within your home.

Room temperature

Our diffusers work well at a wide range of temperatures but we've found that a temperature of around 20°C provides a brilliant scent throw and really aides the dispersion of the fragrance. If you have the ability to keep your home around that temperature you'll notice a significant improvement in the scent throw.

Reeds

Another thing that can affect the performance of the diffuser is the reeds. At KIN we use natural rattan reeds as they are biodegradable. These can sometimes take a day to fully absorb the diffuser oil and start dispersing the scent within a room. We find that flipping the reeds every few days really helps the effectiveness of the diffuser too. A final factor is the amount of reeds used, if you want the strongest aroma we suggest adding in all 5 of the reeds that come with the diffuser, on the contrary if you're after a more subtle fragrance you can use fewer reeds.

We hope this post has helped you optimise your reed diffuser's performance. If you have any more questions please get in touch with us at info@kinhomewares.com
